WOMEN’S HEALTH

From periods and childbirth, to menopause and breast health, there are many medical conditions that are unique to women. This month, we decided to focus on all the services AccessU can provide to support women in all stages of life.

What do we mean by ‘Women’s Health’? The term is used to cover the physical and mental wellbeing specific to the female body, including breast checks, vaginal conditions and all stages of a woman’s reproductive cycle, along with the various associated medical conditions. Here are all the things we can address at AccessU:

Health checks and investigations into any pain or lumps, and X-rays known as ‘Mammograms’ that screen for signs of breast cancer.

Sexual Health

Menopause
When women are preparing to stop (Perimenopause) and then stop their periods, with treatments such as HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy).

Mental Health
There are certain issues, such as those relating to reproduction and fertility, that can be unique to a woman’s mental health.

Pelvic Health
Inflammation, pain and movement of the pelvic bone, muscles and area of the body.

Periods

OUR LEADING LADIES

Dr Charlotte Clarke, GP

Before qualifying as a GP in 2019, Charlotte was so inspired by her training placements in Gynaecology and Women’s Health, that it became an area of great professional interest.

”For too long, women have believed, and been told, to endure the pain and debilitating effects of difficult periods, contraception and menopause,” she explains. “There are always options to explore ways of making life more comfortable at every stage and I am delighted to be able to provide that care and attention through AccessU.”

In her spare time, Charlotte enjoys wild swimming, growing her own vegetables and walking her dog over the South Downs.

Charlotte is available to discuss and advise all matters related to Women’s Health, so please get in touch.
