Happy New Year

Welcome to the start of our second year of monthly newsletters from AccessU. We hope that you enjoyed the Christmas holidays, had a good start to 2026 and are keeping well and warm in the winter weather.

For many years, New Year Resolutions have been associated with health. Whilst there are always promotions for new diets, gym memberships and healthy lifestyles, we’ve compiled a list of things that go beyond salads, treadmills and fitness trackers, that we believe are worthy of consideration at the start of a brand new year. Why not see if you can identify with any of our suggestions?

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS

At the start of a New Year, we are here to help you…

STOP WORRYING

Is something bothering you? Is there something that doesn’t feel right? Perhaps it’s a sore neck, stomach pains or discomfort when walking? Whatever the problem, our doctors are ready to see you quickly and at a time that’s convenient for you. So don’t let it play on your mind, get it seen and sorted.

CHECK UP ON YOURSELF

Our Health Checks are designed to give a thorough assessment of your health, monitoring known conditions and detecting any new issues at the earliest opportunity, offering peace of mind and confidence. From standard checks to specific packages focusing on fatigue, digestion or acute illness, we can carry out a wide range of tests at a time to suit you, so please get in touch.

EXPLORE WEIGHT LOSS

With all the talk of jabs, medications, treatments and diets, you might find it difficult to work out what’s the right, and most importantly, safe, path for you to pursue on your weight loss journey.

Our Weight Management Clinics offer a private and confidential space to share your thoughts, answer relevant questions and undergo any necessary tests to identify the right weight loss route for you.

FEEL BETTER

Are you feeling anxious, depressed or generally low? Are you unsure and worried why you’re feeling this way?

If you’re going through a difficult time in your life, we can conduct private, confidential and unbiased Mental Health Reviews that can provide insight into your feelings and be used to discuss possible treatments.

THIS MONTH’S TIP: Stop Suffering Painful Periods

Many women experience heavy, painful or irregular periods at some point in their lives. Because the symptoms are so common, they are often ignored or put up with as “just part of being a woman”, but they can be caused by a number of underlying conditions, such as fibroids, endometriosis, adenomyosis, thyroid issues or hormonal imbalances. Even when there is no medical condition present, the impact on quality of life can be considerable, but it doesn’t need to be like this.

Talking to a GP is a proactive step towards understanding what’s normal, what’s not, and what can be done to help. AccessU offers a range of investigations including blood tests to check for iron deficiency, ultrasounds to assess the pelvis or referrals to specialist services. We also offer management options ranging from simple pain-relief strategies and hormonal treatments, to minimally-invasive procedures for certain conditions.

The important message is that help exists; no one should feel they need to “just cope” with debilitating symptoms. Seeking advice is the first step to protecting long-term health and quality of life.
