NEW: Online Booking
The internet, sex and moving about. Despite what that combination might sound like, it is actually the contents of this month’s newsletter! We are particularly proud to be offering patients our new online Fast Booking Portal, which means patients are in full control of their appointments and when they want to make them.
HEALTH ONLINE
When our co-founder, Dr Raj Laly, was planning AccessU in 2024, he knew that digital presence and communication would be an important element of the business. As technology advances at increasing speed, he freely admits that the efficiency and services provided by online capability has been crucial to the clinic’s popularity and success. Having just launched AccessU’s new online booking platform, he explains AccessU’s digital journey so far.
SEXUAL HEALTH:
Protection, Infection and Fertility
When it comes to the medical profession, the mention of sex is often associated with contraception or the avoidance and treatment of Sexually Transmitted Infections, or STIs. However, the extent of sexual health is much wider and far-reaching.
Whilst we do offer private and discreet consultancy for STI testing and advice on methods of contraception, we can also offer advice, examinations and support on any fertility concerns.
We are helping an increasing number of couples who are actively trying to get pregnant, as well as individuals who wish to know more about their personal fertility, by having conversations and conducting tests that provide knowledge, highlight any issues and discuss how to best address them. As discussions about fertility and sexual health are becoming more open, couples are seeking advice sooner which is always advantageous. There can be a number of reasons for difficulty in conceiving, and every couple is different, so the sooner any obstacle is identified, the sooner it can be overcome.
In addition to matters relating to sexual intercourse and fertility, we offer support for erectile dysfunction in men, while our specialists in Women’s Health can help with vaginal health concerns. So there really is nothing related to Sexual Health we cannot address and no-one should feel the slightest embarrassment or vulnerability in coming to talk to us.
THIS MONTH’S TIP:
Getting Up and Out
After a particularly wet and miserable winter, we’re now on the road to more daylight and better weather – let’s hope we haven’t jinxed it by writing that, but fingers crossed! Whilst the mention of exercise immediately has people thinking about the gym or committing to new fitness regimes, we recommend a more realistic start and seeing where it leads.
Maybe you could go for a stroll during your lunch break at work? Walk or cycle to the local shop instead of driving? Or do a few laps of the garden before it gets dark? If getting some fresh air and clearing your head makes you feel better, you could try longer and more purposeful walks along the beach, around your local park or you could visit a forest. Why not ask a friend to join you for a catch-up ‘on the move’?
These changes are just as beneficial and good for you as embarking on intense fitness programmes, and you have a much better chance of sticking to them. You’ll feel better and, who knows, might even have fun!
